Carl E. Hueber

Carl’s practice is focused on civil trial work, criminal defense and appeals. He has received an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

Background
Carl joined Winston & Cashatt in 1986. After graduating from Gonzaga University School of Law, Carl was a judicial law clerk to Judge Ben McInturff at the Washington State Court of Appeals. He was also a trial lawyer with the Spokane County Public Defender’s Office. He has taught business law, criminal procedure, and legal writing at Gonzaga University and Gonzaga School of Law.

Construction Litigation
Carl represents contractors, owners, architects and engineers in all phases of construction litigation.

Commercial Litigation
Carl represents clients in cases involving breach of contract, business disputes, negligence, employment issues, consumer issues, land use issues, and class actions.

Criminal Defense
Carl joins Kevin Curtis, Greg Devlin and Collette Leland to form Spokane’s most experienced and respected criminal defense team. He handles cases in federal and state court with extensive experience in white collar cases and criminal appeals.

Government/Elected Official Representation
Carl has represented elected officials in relation to a number of unique issues, including proper recusal, court jurisdiction, as well as defending government entities.

Appeals
Carl handles appeals in state and federal courts. He has argued many cases before the Washington Supreme Court and regularly appears before the Washington State Court of Appeals. Carl was the Chair of the Appellate Liaison Committee of the Spokane County Bar Association from 1987 to 1999.
