Michael T. Howard

Mike Howard is a Principal with Winston & Cashatt. Mike is a resident of Coeur d’ Alene, where he manages the Winston & Cashatt office located at 250 Northwest Blvd., Suite 206.

Mike represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex general litigation, with an emphasis in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, construction defects, and insurance coverage disputes. Mike is licensed in Washington, Idaho and Montana, and practices in both state and federal courts.

Mike obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Chemistry from the University of Idaho in 1992, and his law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1999. Mike served as a judicial law clerk for Idaho Supreme Court Justice Cathy Silak in 1999-2000, and has been in private practice since.

Mike is an accomplished litigator, having been inducted into three prominent trial organizations: the International Society of Barristers (ISOB), the American College of Trial Lawyers (ACTL), and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). These are invitation-only organizations made up of experienced trial lawyers and judges with significant trial experience and the highest ethical standards. Fellowship is highly selective, and candidates must undergo a rigorous screening process before receiving an invitation.  ACTL fellowship is limited to 1% of attorneys practicing in any state, and the ISOB is one the most selective organizations in the world.

Mike is also active in the legal community, having served as President of the Idaho State Bar, President of the First District Bar, Idaho Professional Conduct Board, Law School Dean’s Advisory Committee, and various other Board positions.
