Casey Riedner Simmons joined Winston & Cashatt in 2019. Her practice areas primarily focus on personal injury, criminal defense and civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Casey practiced as a deputy prosecuting attorney for Kootenai County, Idaho for six years, handling a variety of criminal matters, both misdemeanor and felony. While at the county, she prosecuted cases ranging from driving offenses to violent crimes. She is an experienced trial attorney, having successfully litigated many jury trials during her tenure. Prior to the prosecutor’s office, Casey clerked for the Honorable John T. Mitchell in Kootenai County where she worked on a number of legal issues, both civil and criminal.

Casey is a Pacific Northwest native who graduated from Colton High School in 2005 and went on to play softball at Yakima Valley Community College. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Idaho with a B.A. in Accounting in 2009 and cum laude from the University of Idaho School of Law in 2012. She was admitted to practice in Idaho that same year.

In her spare time, Casey loves to spend time with her family. They enjoy the outdoors, especially camping, hiking and kayaking. Casey is an active member of the First District Bar Association as well as the John P. Gray Bench Bar Forum. She also volunteers her time at various functions, including as an Idaho State Bar examination volunteer.
